Published annually by the Institute for Economics and Peace, the Global Peace Index is one of the world's leading measures of peacefulness, evaluating 163 countries across indicators including safety, security and more. In the 2026 report, Jamaica ranked as the most peaceful country in the Caribbean and the third most peaceful nation in North and Central America.
