For those of you who may not know, CHTA aims to facilitate the full potential of the Caribbean hotel & tourism industry by serving member needs and building partnerships in a socially responsible and sustainable manner.

Stewart is the 35th recipient of this very prestigious award which he graciously accepted at the 2015 CHIEF that took place in Puerto Rico on Oct. 2-4, 2015 at the El Conquistador Resort.

Being named “Caribbean Hotelier of the Year” is a huge accomplishment as it recognizes excellence in all areas of operations, as well as a commitment to the training and development of staff, contributions to the community and a demonstrated commitment to sound environmental practices.  

“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the 14,000 team members and their leaders that make up Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts, Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts and Island Routes,” said Stewart. “They make me look good every day and have defined our brand as the only hospitality Super Brand to be born out of the Caribbean.”

The award also acknowledges each recipient’s active role in both national and regional issues affecting Caribbean tourism which our CEO and Sandals Resorts International plays a major part in!
